The Joy of Nature.

Hello everyone!

I haven't updated in so long. I would say I've been busy, but I haven't really. I guess I'm just really good at being lazy.

So, the other week we all went to Crater Lake, which was one of the most amazing experiences. The place was insanely beautiful, and snow shoeing was very interesting. We stayed in a lovely house all together, which had its own kitchen and games room, and a room with a log fire on which we made smores. Must say, my first experience of this food was a good one! I even decided to make my own version and stick a marshmallow and chocolate in between two cookies instead of Graham crackers. It was so good! Never bring cookies into a room full of people though - they will disappear quick!

We learned a lot on the trip too. Like, for example, how Crater Lake is starting to see less snowfall, and more rainfall, which is really affecting the ecosystem, and the wildlife. It's kind of sad. Speaking of wildlife, I was disappointed that was didn't see any because most of the creatures were hibernating, or live underground. We saw tracks though.

Nothing much has happened since the trip. I went to see OZ the other night with some friends and had my first experience of an American Movie theatre. It was so different! You go in and sit down and you have a table in front of you with a notepad. You can write your order on there (they had nuggets, burgers, fries, milkshakes, ice cream, alcohol.....) and then they bring it to you. I WAS LIKE OMG THIS IS AMAZING WHY ISNT EVER CINEMA LIKE THIS?! haha. I've sorted out Spring Break plans and I fly to San Francisco on Monday! Dead excited! It's going to be so fun. I've also took on the crazy task of trying not to focus so hard on what I eat anymore. Life is too short for that.

We've been given so much work to do this week though and even some to do over Spring Break! This bothers me greatly! WE ARE ON A BREAK!!! DO PEOPLE NOT UNDERSTAND THE WORD BREAK!!! haha. Student rant.

After the break I only have on month left here. It's crazy how time has flown by! A part of me is really sad that the time here has gone by so quickly, and it's going to be a shame to leave, but at the same time, I cannot wait to see everyone at home.

Till next time xoxo

Me and my friends were making up a story and I don't think I've ever laughed so much...

We became penguins for a little while...

Happy Spring!

Ohayou!

Greetings from sunny Salem - not warm...but sunny. Im here in a short sleeved cardigan and a skirt because being British I turn to summer clothing at the first appearance of sunlight. Sat here eating my chicken salad (I've actually started going to the cafeteria for lunch as well as dinner) and wondering what to write in the post. Nothing much has happened lately, except for a whole big thing with university fees, which I shan't go into because I think this picture sums it up:

Sad but true. I've had to cancel on trips to Vancouver and San Francisco for Spring Break, but I think it was for the best. Not only will it be too expensive, but the people I was going with are over 21, and being only 20 I feel I would be a burden if they wanted to go out.  I think instead I am going to go to Redwoods with the outdoor programme - so much cheaper and everything's included. I might then catch a flight to San Francisco and meet my friends there - my under 21 friends...the Kids Club as we like to be called. I just feel like I'm a big burden on my parents who are doing so much to support my time here. My parents are better than yours :). hehe.

This weekend I'm off to Crater Lake, which is basically this volcano...mountain...kinda thing. It's meant to be really beautiful, so I'm looking forward to that. No doubt I'll take a lot of pictures and spam the F out of my instagram. I'll update after the trip :).

Until then there's nothing more to report. Other than the fact that Milky Ways over here are basically Mars Bars....and that this fact bothers me.

Till next time xoxo
